FIFA Congress: FA Chairman, Greg Clarke elected as FIFA vice-president

Football Association’s chairman, Greg Clarke has been elected as a FIFA vice-president and will serve a four-year term.

During the UEFA Congress in Rome on Thursday, the Englishman beat off competition from Irish FA boss, David Martin, winning the vote 37-18.

Clarke replaces David Gill, Manchester United’s former chief executive as the British representative on the FIFA Council.

Clarke has been the FA’s chairman since 2016 and was previously the chairman and director of Leicester City and the chairman of the Football League.

He will earn an annual salary of £190,000 during his four-year term.
