The Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors’ Forum, NGF, who is also the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has said that the country’s leadership needs to stop the occurrence of abductions in schools.

He was speaking in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, while on solidarity and a congratulatory visit to Governor Bello Mohammed.

He said divine intervention is required for Nigeria to overcome the prevalent security challenges it is facing.

The NGF led by its Chairman who is also the Ekiti State Governor was in Zamfara State over the abduction and safe release of the 279 Jangebe school girls.

He said the governors owe the citizens the duty to protect them and to ensure the unity of Nigeria, which is why the forum has been going from one state to the other to build bridges of peace, togetherness, and harmony among all Nigerians.

The Forum Chairman observed that criminality knows no religion, ethnicity, and nationality. He said the perpetrators of crime must be brought to book, to serve as a deterrent to others.

Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed stressed the need for the Forum to discuss the issue of the prevailing insecurity in Nigeria and proffer workable solutions.

He wants drastic action to be taken, to nip in the bud the current insecurity bedeviling the country.

Zamfara Governor, Bello Mohammed is asking the Federal Government to assist to fight banditry in the state, just as he also emphasized the need for synergy among security agencies, to flush out the bandits.
