Pfizer has confirmed that fake coronavirus vaccines under its brand are currently being peddled in Poland and Mexico for as high as $2,500. At least 80 persons in Mexico alone fell victim to the fraudulent scheme.
While the fake vaccines did nothing to protect them from the coronavirus, no harmful side effects have been recorded as written in a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The peddlers took advantage of social media platforms to create awareness for the fake innoculants before they were caught by cyber police. A similar scenario also played out in Poland as vials of fake coronavirus vaccines were confiscated which turned out to be anti-wrinkle creams.
