Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde has disclosed that the Third Mainland Bridge which has been undergoing repairs for the past 7 months will be closed down for 24 hours this weekend.
The Commissioner revealed that the closure is to help remove all equipment used during the restoration process of the bridge and allow for two-way traffic. He therefore advised motorists on the best alternative routes as below
“Ogudu, Alapere and Gbagada motorists are advised to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu and Yaba as alternative routes, while Iyana Oworoshoki-bound traffic from Lagos-Island, Iddo, Oyingbo, Adekunle and Yaba are enjoined to use Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu and Ikorodu road as alternative routes,” he said.
In conclusion, he thanked Lagosians for their patience throughout the period of repairs
