The fully furnished 52 Bakassi Returnees Housing Estate recently commissioned by Governor Ben Ayade and police station around the estate have been destroyed by hoodlums during their recent attack in Cross River State.

Speaking during an inspection of the destruction, the Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area, Iyadim Iyadim, said the level of destructions of public and private property according to his intelligence, can only be done by the ex- militants who surrendered their arms but the Federal Government failed to cater for them.

Iyadim, who said the hoodlums only took advantage of insecurity during the End SARS protest, called on the Federal Government and the international community to come to aid of Bakassi people as the council has been grounded to zero.

On his part, the Chairman of Akpabuyo local Government Area, Emmanuel Offiong, said major health centres in the council have been set ablaze while office equipment have been carted away.

The two council bosses whose local government are sorrounded by river said only irate youths with arms could hold the two local governments to ransom despite their tight security and strong neighborhood watch.
