A witness before the independent investigating judicial panel on SARS sitting in abuja, Loveth Uloko, wife to late Abraham Uloko has revealed that Police incited a mob action against her husband which led to his death.

Loveth told the panel that the police gave her husband a chase after he was branded an armed robber while he tried to avoid the police reckless driving in Mararaba, Nasarawa State on August 14, 2018, on his way home.

This action incited the mob against him; he was, however, rescued from the mob and taken to Abacha Road Police station, where his statement was taken and was rearrested the next day. But to her surprise, she was called to come to SARS office at Abattoir where she found her husband unconscious.

According to investigation at Garki hospital, it revealed that her husband had suffered brain demurrage due to torture and on their way to Gwagwalada teaching hospital for a brain surgery, he passed on.

The petitioner is seeking among others reliefs, the identity of those involved in the interrogation of the deceased at SARS and be punished.

She also sought compensation of 500 million Naira by the Nigeria Police Force to the deceased family.

Reacting, counsel for the police , Fidelis Ogbebo, asked for an adjournment to enable the respondents open their defense.

The matter was adjourned to March 13, 2021, for continuation.
