Cross River Judicial panel of Inquiry into police brutality and restitution has received 39 petitions from the public according to reports.
The Chairman of the Panel, Justice Micheal Edem, stated this during the inaugural sitting of the panel in Calabar, the state capital, on Wednesday.
The panel has now adjourned to Friday to allow for serving police officers involved in the petitions.
The court sittings are in line with the investigations into the riots that ensued after the ENDSARS protests were hijacked by hoodlums
