For many years, there have been unjust, unexplainable, and unwarranted killings of the Nigerian youths by the police and other units under the Nigerian Police Force who have targeted young, smart, and innovative Nigerians for whatever reason they deem fit, and no justice for the dead recorded thus far.

In a fight against police brutality, bad governance,  and other essential demands, the youths, celebrities, young and old seized major cities in the country for 12 days peacefully until violence became the order of the day and the Nigerian military forced peaceful protesters to retreat and also infringed on their fundamental human rights with lots of lives lost and the international community eye balling Nigeria after the genocide was perpetrated at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.

Two days after this sad unfortunate event, Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer, Phizbarz, used the powerful tool of music to highlight some of the challenges of the Nigerian youths in his new single, ‘Mr officer’.

Using descriptive lyrics to tell the story of how the common man/youths are treated like strangers in their fathers land through the excesses of the law enforcers whose duties are to protect them, and the use of gadgets and expensive electronic devices (laptop & Iphones) is regarded a crime and being profiled as criminals for dreadlocks, tattoos, piercings and many more.

In a time of despair and pandemonium, this is a song I bet  Nigerians can relate to perfectly.

The latest single, ‘Mr. Officer’, which will be officially released on October 23, 2020, was produced by Phizbarz,  mixed and mastered by Synx.

There is no book to figure out how not to become a victim of police brutality, but ‘Mr. Officer’ may just teach you a thing or two about how to avoid it.
