Ekiti Election: Again, Oyebanji Defeats Segun Oni In Appeal Court

A Court of Appeal sitting in Ado Ekiti has upheld the judgement of the lower court validating the victory of the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji at the June 18 Governorship election in the state.

Delivering the judgment through zoom Justice Hamma Akawu Barka who led a three-member panel dismissed the petition filed by Segun Oni, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), for lacking merit.

Speaking to journalists, the counsel to social Democracy party sdp Owoseni Ajayi said they will appeal the judgement while the counsel representing All Progressive congress Kabir Akingbolu applauded the judiciary for the judgement.

In a swift reaction, the chief press secretary to Ekiti state Governor, Yinka Oyebode said the judgement affirms the validity of oyebanjis mandate, calling on Segun Oni to join hands with the administration to develop the state.
