The Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Sa’ad Abubakar III, has directed the Muslim Ummah to look out for the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah from tonight.

Abubakar said this in a statement in Sokoto by the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs of the Sultanate Council, Prof. Sambo Junaidu.

The Sultan prayed Allah to assist the Muslim Ummah in the discharge of its religious duties.

Dhul-Hijjah is the 12th and last month in the Islamic calendar in which the holy pilgrimage takes place, as well as the festival of sacrifice, called Eid-el-Kabir.
