After a two-month-long lockdown imposed by the United Arab Emirates government to curb the spread of the COVID-19 in the country, the Dubai government disclosed new measures as the lockdown begins to relax and the economy reopens.
The restrictions on non-essential businesses such as gyms, salons, movie theatres, event centres, recreational centres, etc have also been lifted.
The new measures allow hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls to reopen at a reduced capacity that ensures the physical distancing measures are strictly followed and the wearing of face marks also.
People below the age of 12 and above the age of 60 will not be permitted entrance into these public facilities.
The United Arab Emirates has confirmed 32,500 cases of the COVID-19 and has recorded 258 deaths.
The country saw a rapid rise in the new daily confirmed cases of the virus during the Eid al-Fitr celebration to about 800 new infections daily.
