Delta State government formally hands over the Asaba International Airport to the management of Asaba Airport Company that won the concessioning bid of the airport conducted early this year after a competitive bidding process.
The hand over ceremony was conducted by the Secretary to the State Government, Patrick Ukah, on behalf of the state government, a transition period he said would see to the state government’s withdrawal from the day-to-day management of the airport.
The Managing Director of the Asaba Airport Company, Adebisi Adebutu, who received the concessioning documents, thanked the state government for conducting what he described as a transparent bid that saw their emergence as the winner.
According to Adebutu, the concessioning of the airport will be of enermous benefit to the state, its people, and the company.
He assured not to betray the confidence reposed in them by the state government.
