Former Manchester United player, David Beckham has bought a ten per cent share in Salford City – thereby joining his fellow class of 92 team-mates as stakeholders in the club.

Beckham’s investment in Salford City makes him a part-owner of the club, just like his class of 92 mates, Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.

Salford City are chasing promotion to League Two as they currently third on the National League table, just a point behind leaders Leyton Orient and Solihull Moors, with 16 games left. Peter Lim remains the largest single shareholder of Salford City with a 40 per cent stake.
