Dangote Group invests heavily in ANAMMCO to the tune of ₦63 Billion

ANAMMCO, Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company was founded in 1977, while its factory was commissioned in 1980 and production activities began in 1981.

Since production activities began in 1981, the company has produced over 30,000 units of commercial vehicles for the West African markets including Nigeria. The company reportedly has the production capacity for only 7500 trucks per annum.

Dangote Group, Nigeria’s leading cement and sugar manufacturing company has invested so much in ANAMMCO with the purchase of about 3,500 units of trucks which are currently estimated to be about ₦63 billion which places each truck at the sum of ₦18 million.

The initial order of trucks for Dangote group was about 350 units and has slowly grown to 3500 units since purchase began in 2016.

According to Mr Frank Nneji, the chief executive officer of Associated Bus Company Transport Plc, Dangote group’s patronage is one of the biggest factors that has kept the company alive and running till this day.

According to him, the trucks used by the Dangote refinery were also produced by ANAMMCO.
