DaGrin inspired my MI2 Album – MI Abaga reveals

It’s been ten years since the untimely passing away of indigenous Nigerian rapper, Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun popularly known as DaGrin.

The rapper passed away in 2010 after releasing hits like “Pon Pon Pon,” “Kondo,” “Thank God,”. This year several people including celebrities have poured out tributes in his remembrance in order to mark his 10th death anniversary.

One of those people is Jude Abaga popularly known as MI Abaga, who took to his social media page to reveal that DaGrin inspired him.

He said that the late singer’s CEO album inspired his MI2 album because he was chasing the standard DaGrin had set. See his tweets below

In 2008 I was in a conversation with @elbama about some artists he was A&Ring for (YQ and LaLa) and he played me a LaLa song that had a rap verse in it.. I remember playing that record for a friend of mine Sola.. and she just kept laughing during the verses
