The Cross River State Government has relaunched its no- mask no- movement campaign in line with the new presidential directive to commence advocacy on the need to curb the spread of the deadly disease.

The advocacy which commenced at the Bogobiri Muslim community was to ensure that there was moderation while celebrating the long Sallah holiday.

Commissioner for Health and Cross River State Chairman on the Covid-19 Taskforce, Dr. Betta Edu, said the wave of the spread of the disease from Asian countries especially India where Nigerians travel for medical tourism needs serious precautions.

She said Governor Ben Ayade had during his Eid-El-Fitr message urged the ummah to celebrate with moderation with their use of face masks and keeping physical distancing.

Responding on behalf of the Muslim community in Cross River State, Head of Hausa/Fulani, Abba Salisbury Lawal, commended Governor Ayade for always protecting the health of Muslims in the state.

The State Government representative used the opportunity to distribute free face masks, hand sanitizers, and other non-food items to the women and youths in Bogobiri Community.
