The Cross River State Chapter Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Most Rev. Okon Bassey Ekpenyong, is dead.
Ekpenyong died at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, following a protracted illness.
Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Rev. Father Bob Etta, confirmed the death of the late state CAN Chairman, saying the deceased will be missed for his role in building unity among the churches.
Etta said the burial arrangement of the late chairman of CAN will be made public after due consultation with the immediate family.
Ekpenyong took over from the Catholic Bishop Emeritus of Calabar Metropolitan, Archbishop Edra Ukpo.
