Zimbabwe is particularly struck by the emergence of the Coronavirus pandemic being an economy with an overdependence on imported goods and produce which has resulted in skyrocketing inflation amongst others.

Despite being on a 21-day lockdown, hundreds of doctors and health workers have refused blatantly to work until Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) are provided as the COVID-19 has claimed a life and reportedly infected 8

The government has now converted its tertiary institutions, especially the science and technology universities to production sites for gloves, masks and sanitizers that meet the WHO standard.

The universities are now supplying those PPE various provinces and producing 2000 masks per day and supplying to several health institutions facilities.
