The Benue State Government says the COVID-19 vaccine is not mandatory for its residents who should personally decide whether or not to take it.
Since it took delivery of 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca exactly a week ago, no public administration of the vaccine has been made on any government official.
The Chairman COVID-19 Committee, Benson Abounu, who doubles as Deputy Governor argued that since no one can be held liable if anything goes wrong, it is safer for the people including government officials to take that very critical decision.
