COVID-19: Nigeria slips into second wave as NCDC records 617 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, yesterday announced 617 new cases of coronavirus infection. This brings the total new infection in the country to 3502 within a six-day period. 

The current count in the country stands at 72,527 while Lagos continues to take the lead with the number of most cases at 225, Abuja followed closely with 181 infections. 

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reportedly tested positive and is currently receiving treatment at home under close monitoring. 

As a result, the NCDC has reinforced awareness advising all not to relapse in their social distancing measures especially with the yuletide around the corner.
