The Ministry of Education has called on the general public to disregard a purported press statement from its Minister, Adamu Adamu, saying schools will only reopen by November, due to the impact of COVID-19.
A statement signed by the Director Press, Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, said the government will use appropriate channels to communicate school reopening to Nigerians.
The statement further noted that already, security operatives have been informed to fish-out and disgrace the individual or groups behind the fake news.
Parents and students have also been advised to keep to the Federal Government directives to stay at home and maintain good hygiene to stop the spread on the ravaging COVID-19.
