Coronavirus Port Health Authorities to quarantine vessels coming from China

According to Indonesia’s Directorate General of Sea Transportation, the Port health authority will make vessels that have visited China during their 10 port stops go through a thorough inspection.

The coronavirus originated in the world’s second-biggest economy, this made it an easy point for the virus to spread. Several countries, especially in Asia, have put measures in place to stop the spread of this deadly virus this includes quarantines and check.

Animals would also be checked for traces of the Coronavirus and anyone who is suspected or show signs of the virus will be treated by the authority. Indonesia is also the first country with plans to stop the importation of foods and beverages from China to combat the fast-spreading disease.

It has been revealed by a spokesman for Japan’s transport ministry that restrictions on ships coming from China has been imposed by the agency and also [plans to put extra precaution in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Even in the Philippines, workers in ships arriving from China are not allowed to disembark. On Feb 1, a notice was sent out by Maritime and Port Authority that a declaration form and other related documents must be submitted by vessels who visited China within the last 14 days before berthing in Singapore.

Before vessels enter the South Korean Port, it must be properly checked to be sure it is free from Coronavirus. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agency must thoroughly check to go into ports and also, their crew must be checked according to a statement.

Although Australia refused the suggestion of the private shipping and logistics agency, Gulf Agency Co on their 14 day-quarantine periods, the country, however, stated that screening measures will apply to vessels that left China Feb. 1. Measures are put in place to stop the spread of this virus.
