Coronavirus: Nasarawa Governor, Deputy Gov., Others test negative

The Coronavirus test results for the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, his Deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, and the Emir of Lafia, Sidi Bage, have all come out as negative.

The Governor confirmed this while briefing reporters in Lafia, the state capital.

Media report had it that Governor Sule shook hands with one of the contacts that tested positive to Coronavirus during a meeting he attended in Abuja few weeks ago.

The Governor explained that in line with best practice, he had to run the test.

The state so far has not recorded a positive case for Coronavirus, but Governor Sule urged all the citizens in the state to stay safe and observe all precautionary measures put in place by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to contain the spread of the virus.

The state government warned that anyone found violating the restrictions order in place would be arrested and dealt with.

He also said more measures would be taken to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
