Two men linked with the murder of Paraguay Prosecutor Marcelo Pecci were detained in Bogota and Rionegro on Saturday (January 14), Colombia’s Prosecutor’s Office said on Sunday (January 15).
Brothers Andres Felipe and Ramon Emilio Perez Hoyos were involved in the planning of Pecci’s murder, said Colombia’s General Prosecutor Francisco Barbosa.
Local media reported that the brothers pleaded guilty to the crimes of aggravated homicide and carrying weapons.
Pecci, 45, was shot dead on the island of Baru near the Caribbean city of Cartagena in May 2022 while on a honeymoon with his wife.
