Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, COAS, General Faruk Yahaya, has assured that the country’s Army, will continue to ensure the protection of lives and property, in line with its constitutional mandate.
General Yahaya, who was on a working visit to the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, in the troubled South East region, told reporters that working in partnership with other security agents, the Army will ensure that the country is free from those taking up arms against the State.
The new Army Chief, who was in Enugu to inspect military facilities and assess the security situation so far in the region, also held talks with the General Officer Commanding, 82 Division, Major General Toareed Lagbaya as well as Officers and men of the Division.
