The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige is set to meet with President Buhari today to discuss the looming Minimum wage review.

According to him, the Labour Unions have misconstrued the negotiations going on and as a result, decided to threaten with a strike intended to last for 2 weeks.

The Minister clarified, however, that the Federal Government is still within the specified boundaries of implementing the revision and described the strike action as blackmail.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, on the other hand, is mobilizing members for the strike citing that apart from the revised wages, quite a number of staff are still owed months of unpaid salaries by the State Governments.
