Caster Semenya Lodges Appeal Against Testosterone Ruling

South African athlete, Caster Semenya has filed an appeal to a court of arbitration ruling against her.

The double Olympic 800m champion lodged her appeal in Switzerland’s Federal Supreme Court after losing her case against the IAAF rules which forces her to reduce her testosterone levels if she wants to compete.

In a statement on Wednesday confirming her Appeal, Semenya said:

“I am a woman and I am a world-class athlete. The IAAF will not drug me or stop me from being who I am”

Semenya’s appeal against the IAAF will focus on the ‘fundamental human rights’.
