The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has declared that the old #500 and #1000 remain legal tender in the state just as he threatened to sanction any commercial banks and business outlets rejecting the old notes
He was speaking in Abeokuta,the Ogun state capital while addressing crowd of bank customers during his re-election campaign to Obafemi/ Owode local government area of the state who are having difficult time accessing their funds
While describing the situation as unfortunate and unacceptable,he however appealed to residents not to result to violence as efforts are being made to address the situation
