Cameroon has 658 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 9 recorded death. Following this, a mayor in Cameroon city, Roger Mbassa Ndine, says wearing masks will become necessary in slowing the spread of the pandemic disease in the country.

On Monday, his crew members hit the street giving free washable masks in a new awareness campaign. A teacher in Douala, Nemache Celestin, shares in the thought of Roger Ndine.

According to her, Africa has limited resources to fight the pandemic disease, so in effect, we must try everything to protect us from the disease. Officials disclosed that some Cameroonians are flouting the directives put in place to fight coronavirus in the country.

However, authorities are putting steps to ensure that people adhere to social distancing during this period. Cameroonian President, Sassou-Nguesso following the outbreak declared a state of health emergency curfew from 8:00 pm- 5:00 am.

Everyone must remain confined to their homes during this period except those with essentials services.
