C.A.R.: Ex-Rebel’s Lawyers Open Defence Case

Lawyers representing a former rebel commander accused of committing atrocities in the Central African Republic are outlining his defense at the International Criminal Court.

Mahamat Said Abdel Kani is accused of running a detention center where people suspected of supporting the former president, Francois Bozize, were tortured.

Kani who denied the charges was in court to see his lawyers complain that the case was based on presumptions and was bound to fail.
