President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday received breifing from the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Zubairu Gambo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking with State House Correspondents after meeting with the President, Vice Admiral Gambo said he was at the Villa to seek the blessing of the President for him to honour the Nigerian Navy in commissioning the indigenously built seawards defence boat three, which is one of the three being built by the Nigerian Navy dockyard staff in Lagos.
He explained that the new boats when commissioned will add to the set of vessels owned by the Navy for the protection of the Nigerian maritime territory against piracy, sea robbery, illegal bunkering, and all other maritime crimes.
The Cheif of Naval Staff noted that there are plans to build such boat for other countries within the West Coast.
