The House of Representatives Committee on National Population has queried the National Population Commission (NPC) for spending the sum of N1.9 billion to host a one-day stakeholders’ summit on the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
The query was issued during the budget defence session of the Commission by its Chairman, Nasir Isa Kwarra who represented by a federal commissioner Engr Bala Banye.
Similarly, a member of the committee Hon Chudi Momah, demanded details of how N1.9 billion was expended on a one day summit which was held at the Presidential Villa in August 2022 since it was not captured in the budget presentation to the committee.
