The Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of the sitting Governor, Duoye Diri. The election was reportedly nullified due to a petition by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party on claims of unlawful exclusion from the election.
The ruling which may be challenged at the appeal court comes after the tribunal dismissed three other petitions against the election of the PDP candidate.
The petitions were filed by the Alliance for Democracy, the United People’s Congress (UPC) and the Liberation Movement (LM).
