Breaking: 6 abducted uniabuja staff, family regain freedom

The Federal Capital Territory police command has confirmed the safe release of six persons abducted from the University of Abuja, early hours of Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

The Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh who confirmed the release to reporters said that no ransom was paid to secure their release.

The Uniabuja Chairman of the academic staff union of universities, ASUU, Katsina Umaru who also confirmed the release to reporters has appreciated the effort of the Joint security operatives.

Also, the spokesman of the university, Habeeb Yakoob while confirming the release Friday morning said there is wild jubilation on campus as the news broke.

Habeeb said the trauma over the abduction was already affecting the psychology of staff, students, and entire university community.

Six persons including professor Obasan and his child were abducted on Tuesday from their house in the Uniabuja staff quarters located at Giri, Gwagwalada in the FCT.
