Borno Govt. shuts down Kashim Ibrahim College of Education indefinitely

Kashim Ibrahim College of Education in Maiduguri, Borno State, has been shut down indefinitely. The Borno State Ministry of Higher Education directed the closure with immediate effect, following a protest by students of Borno College of Education, Science and Technology, Bama, who are being temporarily accommodated at the Kashim Ibrahim College of Education.

The President, Kashim Ibrahim College of Education Students Union Government, Bakura Abba Yusuf, said the protest issues revolved around accommodation fees and available bed spaces, resulting in the blockage of the Maiduguri – Kano Road, opposite the college, on Thursday morning.

Police Public Relations Officer in Maiduguri, Superintendent of Police, Eket Okon, confirmed that there were no unruly incidences, as the students dispersed peacefully.
