Usain Bolt Offered Contract offer from Maltese Champions Valletta FC

Sprint king, Usain Bolt could be set to play professionally in Europe as he receives a two-year contract offer from Valletta FC, a Maltese Club.

The offer comes just mid-way through the Olympic champion’s pre-season trials for Australian league club, the Central Coast Mariners, and less than a week after a trial match performance the sprinter netted two goals.

Valletta competes in the top tier Malta Premier League and has expressed aspirations to qualify for Europe’s showpiece club competition, the UEFA Champions League next Season.

Bolt has drawn record crowds to his appearances with the Mariners which they say should qualify him for the “marquee player” fund from the Football Federation Australia (FFA), a potential incentive to keep Bolt in Australia.
