In 2016, A suicide bomb attack by Islamic extremists Boko Haram left Njidda Maidugu with one leg, as his right limb was cut off due to this attack.
The 35 Year Old never thought he could ever walk again, so did many others who lost their limbs and suffered various injuries due to similar attacks by Boko Haram in Northeastern Nigeria.
Njidda and many lucky ones like him are now very happy. They have been fitted artificial replacements, at no costs to them. The prosthetic legs are part of a project run by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) which gives renewed hope to victims of the insurgencies.
He was all smiles as he got an artificial limb and a set of crutches which is a dream come true for him to be able to somehow walk again. indeed, Red Cross’ Limbs of Hope has given Njidda fresh hope.
