Armed bandits invaded the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, Afaka in Kaduna State in the early hours of Tuesday.
A resident of the area who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned told reporters that the bandits came in large numbers shooting sporadically and kidnapped two officers, and left one officer killed.
Security operatives have been beeping up in the areas to avoid further occurrence. The effort has been made to hear from the authority concern was unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, a statement by the Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Jajira, said that the Academy in collaboration with the 1 Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna State has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.
“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that these unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued,” the statement added.
