A score of people including one police personnel were said to have been killed by suspected bandits at Tofa village, in Bugundu Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Saturday.
The report said on Saturday night, bandits in their number stormed Tofa village in Bungudu Local Council with sophisticated arms and began to shoot sporadically.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Shehu, said the combined Police Tactical operatives were not alerted until after the bandits might have finished their onslaught on Tofa Community.
The police said they are yet to ascertain the exact number of villagers that were killed by the bandits during the invasion.
Shehu assured a discreet investigation that will fish out the perpetrators of the bizarre crime for justice to take its course.
