Bandits abduct students of Kaya Day Secondary School in Zamfara State

Suspected bandits have abducted scores of students from Kaya Day Secondary School in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The bandits were said to have invaded the school Wednesday morning at about 11 am and took away the students to an unknown location.

Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State is where Governor Bello Mohammed hails from.

Sources said the bandits stormed the school on motorcycles, shooting sporadically to scare people away before they abducted the students and some teachers from the school.

The locals said over 100 students were abducted.

The Zamfara State Police Command and the state government have not yet given any official statement regarding the incident at the time of this report.

The abduction is coming barely a week after the abducted students and staff of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science were released by their abductors.

The state government also said it had rolled out what it called proactive security measures aimed at flushIing out the criminal elements and restoring peace in the state.
