Bandits Abduct 2 persons In Dansadau General Hospital in Zamfara State

At least two persons were said to have been abducted when suspected bandits invaded the General Hospital in Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria on Friday.

A source from the community said the two abducted persons were health personnel and one caregiver.

The source also explained that the bandits were trying to locate the doctors, nurses, and midwives who lived in the area.

In a swift reaction, the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Zamfara State Branch, said it has received a report of an attack on General Hospital Dansadau by gunmen looking for medical doctors and nurses.

It said the bandits abducted a ward attendant and a patient’s relation.

Two other female staff of the hospital were also injured.

A statement signed by the NMA State Chairman, Doctor Mannir Bature, said worried by the unfortunate incident, NMA Zamfara will hold an emergency state officers council meeting on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
