The Katsina State government has ordered the shut down of all illegal junction and roadside motor parks across the 34 local government areas of the state with immediate effect.
This is the outcome of the Fifth Regular State Executive Council Meeting held on Wednesday, September 8.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Yar’adua, the Council also directed all commercial vehicles including luxurious buses to immediately relocate their operations to designated approved motor parks.
The statement further hinted that the Council also approved the compulsory use of reflective jackets by all commercial motorcycle riders across the state, mandating the State Ministry of Works, Housing, and Transport to issue appropriate reflective jacket samples.
Yar’adua said the latest orders are in furtherance of consistent follow-up regarding the implementation of the Security Challenges Containment Order.
