Residents of Jos, the Plateau State capital, want Governor Simon Lalong to as a matter of urgency look into the ban of tricycle popularly known as Keke Napep in the state following recent security concerns in the interest of the masses who are at the receiving end of the decision.

They said the ban has created hardship for most people who will have to either trek long distances as the few taxis available cannot meet the population on the ground.

Following the crises that rocked some local government areas of Plateau State, as part of measures to restore peace, the popular transport system Keke Napep, was banned from operating within the greater Jos metropolis.

But it is obvious that this decision even though for the good of the people according to government, seems to be greeted with mixed reactions, while some applauded the move others said it is not a good one.

They called on the state government to come up with alternative means of transportation or check the excesses of a few criminals among the tricycle riders.

With the end to the tricycle ban not in sight, residents will have to make do with paying high transport fares or compulsory keeping fit, which will be trekking long distances.
