Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has tendered a public apology to Afrobeats singer Davido for making an insensitive joke about him.
AY made headlines when he teased Davido about his multiple baby mamas during his recent Warri performance, as seen in a viral video.
The joke did not land well with many netizens who found it offensive and inappropriate, as they criticised him for making such personal and potentially hurtful remarks about the singer.
Following the backlash, that comedian took to his official Instagram page to tender an heartfelt apology for the poorly delivered joke in Warri, acknowledging that it wasn’t as funny as during his tour in Canada and the US.
AY said he understood the frustration caused by how blogs used it and recognized it as a learning experience in the entertainment industry. He ended by affirming his unwavering support and love for the singer.
