In alignment with the goal to cut up to 9500 jobs by 2025, the German carmaker, Audi will be retiring 7,500 jobs in Germany as announced yesterday.

The retrenchment will not be forced lay-offs but will target an earlier and attractive retirement programme for its workforce which will be extended from the 2025 date to 2029.

Audi also disclosed plans to introduce 2,000 new roles in the electric mobility and digitalisation sectors. All these targeted towards its ‘future pact’ negotiations after its 2015 emissions scandal.
