Arms procurement: Release panel’s report - Atiku tells Buhari

The Presidential candidate of main opposition the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has accused the Federal Government of wasting valuable time and resources on the re-election campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari while neglecting the Boko Haram crisis that has continued to consume the lives of innocent citizens.

He also called on the Federal Government to release the report of the committee on arms procurement.

In a statement in Abuja on Sunday by the Special Assistant to the PDP presidential candidate on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku who was reacting to December 27, 2018 attack on two military bases in Borno State and the seizure of the outpost of the Multinational (Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon) Joint Task Force in the border town of Baga by Boko Haram fighters, alleged that the President Buhari administration had “completely lost control of the engagement with Boko Haram and can show no instance when the military had any dominance of any aspect of the conflict.”

“Two days earlier, on December 25, 2018, 14 Nigerian Army and police personnel were killed in an ambush by Boko Haram.
