APC State Congress: 2 chairmen emerge in Bauchi state

An amalgamation of some contestants for the All Progressive Congress, APC, State Congress in Bauchi emerged on Saturday and held parallel congresses to choose their respective state Chairman of the party.

The group expressed disappointment over the just-concluded Congress in Bauchi State, alleging that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and the former Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and some sponsored Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members in the party for being responsible for the problem in the Bauchi State Congress by imposing leaders on them.

Bauchi State like some others in Nigeria witnessed confusion during Saturday’s APC State Congress The Congress which was scheduled to hold between 10 – 11 am could not until about 5: 30 pm when the National Electoral Committee arrived with some other members of the party.

In a press briefing at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Bauchi State, the aggrieved members of the party who held parallel congress, expressed their reasons for holding the parallel congresses during the APC State Congress in Bauchi State.

The group called on President Muhammad Buhari and the leadership of the party at the national level to come and rescue the APC in Bauchi from the verge of collapse before the 2023 general election.
