The Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Salihu Lukman, has advised the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Executive Committee, NEC, to nullify all disciplinary decisions initiated and executed by the Adams Oshiomhole led National Working Committee, NWC, of the Party.

The NEC is expected to meet on Tuesday, March 17, when it will ratify the appointment of an Acting National Chairman for the Party.

A statement released by Salihu on Saturday stated that the NWC lacked the power to suspend any member of the party in the first place.

The Secretariat of the Progressive Governors’ Forum said the action of the NWC had been based on impulsion and driven by the ego of the Oshiomhole-led NWC.

The Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shaibu; National Vice-Chairman Noth-West, Inuwa Abdulkadir; former Governors Rochas Okorocha, Ibikunle Amosun, and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu were some of the top ranking party men suspended by the NWC in 2019 following allegations of anti-party activities in the build up to the 2019 general elections.

Though the suspension of the three Governors was withdrawn, that of Shuaibu and Abdulkadir who are members of NWC remained active.

Salihu stated that the power to discipline any member of the party was vested on the NEC who will now set up a fact finding mission as stated in Article 21 of the APC Constitution.
