A 100 level student of the Department of Microbiology at the University of Jos, Iyaje Abuma Shedrack, was reportedly killed along Bauchi road on Thursday, a few miters from the University Permanent Site gate.

The student was said to have been stabbed multiples times and thrown out of the tricycle he boarded on his way to town after the state government had reviewed the 24 hours curfew earlier on imposed on Jos North.

A student of the institution, Andy Yakubu, who confirmed the development to reporters, said Iyaje was on his way to town when it happened and the police swiftly responded and took him away, but couldn’t survive.

Efforts to get the State Police Command to comment on the incident were unsuccessful as the Command’s Spokesperson declined several calls.

This brings to four, the number of students said to have been killed from Sunday to date following fresh violence in Jos.
