Security sources have informed that 35 travellers have been kidnapped along the Damaturu Highway a few days after two aid workers were reportedly kidnapped and murdered from the same location.
The incident took place at about 11 am and to the chargin of security personnel, the terrorists returned by evening mounting a roadblock at Garin Kuturu.
One of the victims have been identified as a Dangote Truck Driver who was shot dead and the automobile set ablaze.
Local reports have it that the terrorists wore military uniforms in an attempt to mask as security officials harassing several commercial vehicles. This led to some confusion with travellers escaping for their lives but unfortunately 35 have been abducted.
A civilian-JTF Spokesperson, Danbatta Bello has revealed that the situation of the highway is out of control as attacks on commuters have become a daily event.
